Our European Solidarity Corps volunteers, Georgia and Roscoe, are having a great time in Bulgaria so far. They arrived in Sofia for their 3.5 month volunteering placements just over a month ago, and have already settled in very well.

Georgia and Roscoe are volunteering with Bulgarian organisation Education 21st Century Organisation, a not-for-profit that supports young people in Bulgaria to develop a range of skills including English language learning through informal workshops. Georgia and Roscoe have been supporting the organization with a range of tasks, including workshops in schools. Polina and Veronika, who have been managing the volunteers, have been impressed with how quickly they have settled in and how enthusiastic they have been about their placements.

As well as their volunteering placements, Georgia and Roscoe have also been able to enjoy the sights of Sofia, and have been on a number of tourist activities to get to know the city better. They have also each been assigned a mentor, who is local to the city, who can show them around. In addition to this, they have been able to meet other international and Bulgarian volunteers through a number of initiatives such as a recent Clean Bulgaria Day.
We are now recruiting for our next round of volunteers, who will travel to Bulgaria in January 2019. If you are aged 18-30 years old and would be interested in taking part in this fantastic opportunity then please get in touch or sign up to the European Solidarity Corps PASS portal to link with us.
