Project Planning in Bulgaria

We were delighted to be in beautiful Bulgaria last week to start planning for our brand new European Solidarity Corps project. The project will see four volunteers from the UK spend 3.5 months in Bulgaria to support our partners in Sofia, Education 21st Century Foundation, with community projects through leading fun and informal English language learning.

As well as planning some of the logistical elements of the project with our Bulgarian partners, the visit allowed us to visit some of their school partners who the volunteers will be able to work with through the project. One school we visited specialises in inclusive education for young people from a number of diverse backgrounds and we were treated to a tour of their facilities as well as a sneaky peak of their traditional Bulgarian dance routines that they’ll be performing in a festival next week.

We were also able to visit the creative co-working space where the volunteers will be based, along with their accommodation which is being renovated in time for their arrival in September!
